Wings of Fire Book 2 Review

Title: The Lost Heir

Warning: SPOILERS

Rating: 7/10

Summary: After Clay finds his siblings, The four friends go to the Kingdom of the Sea. Tsunami meets another Seawing called Riptide, and he teaches her the Seawing language. Tsunami and her friends are brought to the Kingdom and Tsunami finds her mother, the Queen of the Sea. She also finds her unknown little sister, who she rivals with at first but then becomes good friends. Tsunami also finds out something is killing all the newborn princesses, so she finds it and stops it from destroying anymore. To protect Tsunami, her mother locks them all up, but they escape narrowly and manage to leave the kingdom.

Review: This book was honestly really good. I liked how Tsunami still thought of her friends, even through all of the drama with her friends. She shows development from first trying to protect her friends but coming out as bossy and reckless, then acting as an equal. What I didn’t like was Queen Coral, Tsunami’s mother. I knew something was wrong when she first met her mother. I understand that Coral didn’t want to lose her daughter, but Tsunami grew up without her and turned out fine. Locking up her and her friends was wrong.

Title: The Dragonet Prophecy

Warning: SPOILER

Rating: 4/10

Summary: Clay and his friends Tsunami, Sunny, Glory and Starflight, destined to save the world and stop the war, sneak away from their guardians to explore the world. They are captured by the Skywings and are forced to fight to the death in an arena, then narrowly escaped to the Mud Kingdom where Clay’s family is.

Review: I liked the book, but since Clay’s not my favourite character, his perspective wasn’t extremely amazing. It was interesting to hear from his thoughts, but it bothered me when his life would revolve around his friends. Peril was nice, but she didn’t have a lot of development. Sunny was locked away for most of the book. Starflight was barely mentioned until he had to fight. Glory was pretty cool, though. And Tsunami had lots of scenes with Clay, so I was debating weather to ship Tsunlay or Cleril.
